With 480 hp (353 kW) and 2,300 Nm max. torque, the MAN D26 Euro 5 engine offers reliable,
and very powerful propulsion. A high-torque performance characteristic with extremely economical consumption distinguishes this 12.4-litre six-cylinder in-line engine with Common-Rail injection. Emission control is by means of SCR technology – without EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).
This engine version contains a special data record (official data record) without torque reduction of malfunctions of an exhaust-relevant assembly according to OBD (on-board diagnosis). The engine can be operated with diesel (DIN EN 590) as well as with paraffinic diesel fuels (DIN e.g. HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oils).
The TipMatic gearbox MAN 12.28 OD has 12 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. It is an overdrive gearbox (i12 = 0.77) and is designed for a maximum input torque of 2,800 Nm. The gear spread is 16.78. The automated manually operated gearbox independently performs clutch actuation and gearshifts. The MAN TipMatic® shift system uses software control functions to determine the optimum moving-off and gearshift strategy in all situations in conjunction with the load and inclination detection function.
The innovative SmartShifting function permits particularly fast gear changes with minimum interruptions in tractive force as required and thus increases efficiency.
Thanks to the intelligent electronic control and simple operation, it allows the MAN TipMatic 12.28 OD to ideally combine outstanding performance, optimum economic efficiency and high driving comfort in all driving/deployment situations.
The Offroad ABS with additional off-road logic systematically suspends brake pressure control at low speeds (up to 40 km/h).
The wheels that lock during braking push ground material in front of them on loose ground (e.g. gravel or scree) and build up an obstruction behind the brake. This enhances the braking effect and reduces the braking distance.
The MAN SD card radio with its seven-inch colour display in HD quality offers all the basic functions of a radio and entertainment system for a pleasant working day. Besides reception of the usual radio stations, the radio is also able to play back the music stored on an inserted SD card.
